Quick verdict

Make is a strong low-cost start for hosted automation: free for small workloads and, where both were verifiable, cheaper than Zapier on 4 of 4 of our standard workloads (up to 10.8x). Its weak spot is unit growth: every module and bundle uses credits. Based on official documentation and pricing as of October 20, 2026. No product was tested hands-on for this page.

Why a value is blank or missing: Free plan; there is no annual billing.

Core

At 10,000 credits per month: $16/mo billed monthly ($1.60 per 1,000 credits) or $12/mo billed annually ($1.20 per 1,000 credits). Price scales with the credits you choose.

Pro

At 10,000 credits per month: $28/mo billed monthly ($2.80 per 1,000 credits) or $21/mo billed annually ($2.10 per 1,000 credits).

Enterprise

Why a value is blank or missing: "Custom" pricing; Make asks Enterprise buyers to talk to sales.

How Make counts usage

Each module action in a scenario (for example adding a Google Sheets row or fetching Gmail data) consumes credits; most actions use 1 credit, while some advanced features using Make's AI Provider may use more. Router and error-handler modules use none. The pricing FAQ says credits replaced the previous billing unit "as of August 27".

Estimate credits from your scenarios

3 × 300 × 4 = 3,600 credits a month, assuming each module handles one bundle per run. Polling triggers also use a credit on every check.

Cheapest qualifying plan: Core (10,000 credits a month tier). Billed monthly $16 a month; billed annually $12 a month.

Assumptions
  • Prices and limits come only from the Vetted SaaS Price Index entry for Make (US pricing page, USD).
  • Make prices credits on a sliding scale. The index stores paid-plan prices up to 10,000 credits a month, so paid plans are quoted at that point and anything above it is marked not verifiable instead of estimated.
  • “A year” figures are 12 × the monthly price. Extra credits bought mid-cycle are not included.

moderate

Why we picked it

One of the three platforms in the Price Index cost engine, and the most common alternative readers weigh against Zapier and n8n.

Strengths

  • A free hosted plan; 1 of our five standard workloads fit inside it.
  • Where both prices were verifiable, Make cost less than Zapier on 4 of 4 standard workloads.
  • Five documented error handlers (Skip, Retry, Resume, Commit, Rollback), so a failed run can be retried or rolled back rather than lost.
  • Make AI Agent (New) is available on all plans through Make's AI provider.

Weaknesses

  • Credits grow with every module and every bundle a module handles, so the same workflow costs more credits as it gets longer or processes more rows.
  • A polling trigger uses a credit on each check, even when nothing new arrived.
  • Make AI Agent (New) is in open beta: Make says functionality and pricing may change.
  • The platform is hosted by Make only; the Enterprise on-premise agent is a bridge to local systems, not self-hosting.

Who it's for

Small teams that want to start free, build on a canvas and keep monthly credits inside a recorded plan allowance.

Who should skip it

Teams with long, high-volume workflows or a self-hosting requirement: price n8n first.

Best alternative

  • n8n

See the full alternative for readers this product isn't the right fit for.

Biggest limitation

Cost grows with steps and volume, and above the default 10,000-credit setting the price sits behind a selector we have not recorded, so High-volume simple sync cannot be priced here. Check the selector on Make's pricing page for higher volumes.

Is it worth it

Good value while your monthly credits fit 10,000 credits per month at the price shown (the page's default 10,000-credit setting) or less. Above that, price the exact credit tier on Make's page and compare it with n8n's per-run plans.

Alternatives

  • n8n

Bills one execution per run regardless of steps, and can be self-hosted.

  • Zapier

Task-based billing on hosted plans; compare its cost on your own workload first.
