New Google review to AI-drafted reply, approved by you

What it automates

Each new Google review gets an AI-drafted reply that is emailed to you first. Nothing is posted until you click Approve; decline and the review stays unanswered.

STARTS WHENNew Google review (hourly check)AI DRAFTSAI drafts a replyYOU APPROVEYou approve or decline by emailRESULTPost the approved replyRESULTConfirmation email to you

Who it is for

Local businesses that want every review answered without writing each reply from scratch.

Human approval

The draft is emailed to you with Approve and Decline buttons. Only an Approve click posts it, exactly as shown. No answer within 7 days posts nothing.

When something fails

If the AI step fails you get the review by email to answer by hand. If Google rejects the reply after 3 tries you get the approved text to post yourself.

Running cost estimate

At 20 new reviews a month: 20 executions a month fit n8n Cloud Starter (2,500 executions a month): €20/mo billed annually. Last verified on n8n's pricing page.

One run is one n8n execution, however many steps or waits it has. The cost of the apps themselves is separate. Make: no estimate until the Make version exists, because Make bills per module action.

Setup overview

  1. In n8n, open Workflows, choose Import from File, and select n8n.json.
  2. Check Google's Business Profile API prerequisites; Google asks you to request API access for your Google Cloud project before the n8n credential works.
  3. Open Configure me and set your business name, email, sign-off and tone.
  4. Create credentials: Google Business Profile OAuth2, OpenAI and Gmail. Pick your account and location in both Google nodes.
  5. In Draft reply with AI, choose a current OpenAI model (the model ID in the file is a placeholder).
  6. Run one test with your own data, check every step's output, then switch the workflow to Active.

Known limits

  • The review ID passed to the reply step is taken from the trigger's review name; confirm it on the first live review.
  • The prompt tells the model to ignore instructions inside reviews, but you are the final check: read every draft before approving.
